How to join us

There are no membership formalities or fees for FROGS, and everyone is welcome to join in. Details of our forthcoming events are shown below.

Saturday 24th
3:00 pm: Yellowfish event, Outside Library
This is the new date for the activity lead by BART (Bristol & Avon River Trust). We will be going around town marking freshwater drains to remind everyone that these feed into the river, and we need to look after the fish. All welcome, but please mail to let us know you are coming.
Sunday 25th
10:00 am: Gardening, Roundhouse, The Otherside
There's more spreading wood chip, weeding the woodland flowers bed and moving some of the medicinal herbs that we need to do. So come & join us !


Sunday 22nd
9:00 am: Listen to the Birds, Town Centre end of Willow Vale
Join Dan Lupton as he leads a walk along Willow Vale towards Rodden Meadow to listen to the birdsong and he will help us identify the songsters. Please - no dogs. Children free & welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult.Adults 2
Sunday 29th
10:00 am: Sports Fest - 10 till 2, Victoria Park
Free taster sessions by local sports clubs and groups and the Skate Park consultation. Organised by the Children's Festival


Sunday 13th
2:30 pm: Woodland Wildflowers Walk, by parking area on Elm Lane
Join us looking for wild flowers in Vallis Vale with Veryan Conn. Adults 2. Accompanied children free and welcome. Meet near cattle grid at the parking area on Elm Lane BA11 3JA.
Sunday 20th
1:30 pm: Otters at Chantry Lane, Chantry church crossroads, Raiford Hill
Tony House will lead us, looking for evidence of the otters at Chantry lake, by kind permission of John Powell. (Sightings not guaranteed!) Adults 2, accompanied children free and welcome. Sorry, no dogs please. Meet at Chantry church crossroads, Raiford Hill BA11 3LW grid ref: ST719470.


Sunday 29th
2:30 pm: Butterflies & Moths at East Woodlands, East Woodlands church BA11 5LQ
Discover the variety of butterflies and moths at East Woodlands with Eve Tigwell and Mick Ridgard. Please park considerately at the church. Adults 2. Accompanied children free and welcome.


Friday 7th
6:45 pm: Bat walk with Adel Avery, Great Elm River bridge
Join us as we look for bats - we're going to a different venue this year. Adel Avery will help us to spot the bats using electronic detectors. Meet at Great Elm river bridge parking area just up the road above the bridge, time TBC. Bring a torch if possible. Adults and children 2 children are very welcome, but must be accompanied. All proceeds to the Bat Group.
